About Terry Johnson
Terry Johnson is an award-winning attorney and former public official known for his commitment to high standards, fairness and the utmost professionalism. Before starting his own law practice, he served as Nevada's Labor Commissioner, served in the Cabinets of multiple Nevada Governors, and served two 4 year terms on the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

After growing up in a military family, he settled in Nevada and attended college at UNLV. He later graduated from UNLV's Boyd Law School, where he received the inaugural Distinguished Young Alumni Award.

After college, he embarked on a successful public service career in state and local government, receiving along the way the prestigious Good Government Award from the Nevada Taxpayers Association for his regulatory reforms. He became the then-youngest person to serve as State Labor Commissioner and went on to serve as the Director of the Nevada Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation (DETR) in the Cabinet of former Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn, and as the Director of the State Department of Business & Industry in the Cabinet of former Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval.
Between state Cabinet appointments, he served as the Director of Administration in the Clark County District Attorney's Office. He recently concluded his public service career serving over 8 years on the Nevada Gaming Control Board, known throughout the world as the "gold standard" in gaming regulation.

A past "Pro Bono Attorney of the Year" award recipient from Nevada Legal Services and "Attorney of the Year" award recipient from the National Bar Association - Las Vegas Chapter, Mr. Johnson remains active in various legal organizations. He also serves pro bono as General Counsel for HELP of Southern Nevada and as a volunteer legal advisor for Hope For Prisoners, Inc.
